ANDAZ, it is one of the Hyatt Brand in London, locating next to Liverpool station. (not Liverpool city, but in London!)

Lonon 2nd day

Lobby is not big but designed very modern.

London 1st day

Only 2 or 3 people are in lobby, sometime only 1 in late evening.

London Easter

Atrium in lobby is quite typical design of Hyatt.

Last day in London

The lightening effect was interesting.

Last day in London

Especially this elevator hall.

London 1st day

Unfortunately, room itself was not enough for our expectation. The bed was very comfortable..

London 1st day

But we only had small chair and TV.

London 1st day

We are also too spoiled by nice bathroom where bathtub and shower booth are seperated.

London 1st day

Amenity were all “REN” product which you can find also in Suites in Grand Hyatt Tokyo. This was good!

Lonon 2nd day

But this laundry service was great. You can let your laundries done for free! Also you can get some juice from mini bar also free of chrage. These are the benefits you can specially get from this hotel.

London 1st day

Breakfast is served in the restaurant locating next door. It’s not a buffet style. You can choose from menu. Of course prices are included in room charge.

London 1st day

I’ve chose Egg Benedict.

London Easter

We have to admit that we are spoiled by so many good hotels. Just service standard and facily didn’t match our expectaion for it’s price. Maybe it’s because “london market”. I think location is also perfect for those business travelers who spend whole day in London City. It’s unique selling point “free laundry service” was also not been done on Easter Holiday which didn’t satisfied us at all but they were also good enough to solve our complain.

  1. Wow.. cool blog with a lot of nice photos!

There’s few things on my trip there which marked it out. First off, the meet and greet plus the staff is one person can do all, check you in, carry your bags order some food and tell you where to shop/see theatre etc etc. The other cool thing is watching movies, wifi and local calls [national landline] as you say minibar are included.

This is a big departure with transparency and for me a better future for hotels.

Like you I loved the lighting as well.

I’d check out their weekend prices. They drop quite a bit in price if booked in advance! Midweek it’s more pricey. But for a hotel 3/4 hour from an airport in car/train in the middle of the city – I’d say the price is about right!

  2. [...] enjoying a horribly overpriced hotel experience in London with Shitty Service and false promises (Hyatt Andaz) I searched bit further and would like to recommend the following hotels for London: Kensington [...]

The price and service of ANDaz London reminds me a lot of the financial industry. Ripping off the customers and giving the shittiest service you can get for the highest price possible. The stay at this Hotel was a HUGE disappointment!

    1. They promised free laundry included in the price for the weekend. It was an easter weekend. When I called up the housekeeping on Sunday they told me “Sorry this is a banking Holiday” no laundry service today! I mean come on that is ridiculous. Actually it is a rip off!

    2. The first morning when we wanted to have breakfast, the first Hotel staff member (and this wasn’t some cleaning person) pointed us towards the breakfast place. But all doors where locked so we had to re-walk everything. Then when we finally arrived at the breakfast place we haded to wait another 30 minutes because Breakfast was still closed. Nobody ever told us that breakfast would still be closed.

    3. The green apples in the lobby where for free. That was highly appreciated.

    4. Internet did not properly work in the room. It was also included in the price.

I can imagine that a lot of overpayed bankers enjoyed their stay in this Hotel. To me this seemed like a banker-style ripp-off.
